about

Oder "Verstimmter Ausdruck"

Moods:
Tracks 1 + 3: hectic, machinelike
Track 2: airy-fairy

Atonal stuff. All played live on a detuned E-guitar bought for 30 D-Marks, which wasn't playable in a good way (the gap between neck and strings was huge).

Inspiration to do this came from an earlier "accident":
Had a very cheap acoustic guitar before, when suddenly the neck got loose/elastic as the glue didn't hold it any more to the guitar body. So it wasn't usable as a regular instrument in the end. But good to improvise in a different way.

So in both cases the guitar became a weird and powerful percussion instrument.

Some years later this technique had been extended here: eiterschlangen.bandcamp.com/track/improphony-for-one-out-of-tune-electric-guitar-1988
